Phoebe Kim

Phoebe Kim currently resides in Berlin, Germany and is a Korean-Australian Artist. Her works reflect self-identity through painting as a process and practice. Often intrigued by behaviour and the subconscious actions beyond control.
The series of portraits present imagined figures based on Kim’s various experiences in the careless social prejudice which blatantly exist within society today. Her works are vastly a response to the situations and conversations she is faced with as a Korean-Australian pursuing contemporary art. They give insight to the culture differences and perceptions of self via the lens of others.
